So, I had a hacker noob emailed me, to tell me that they had my password and I had 24hrs to send them bitcoin or they would release a “video”. Of what exactly, who knows. Maybe pet videos from my computer? Anyways, a quick search and I found my old Tumblr account was the only site that still used the password they said they had. So…here we are.
Anyone still on this thing? Today I’m releasing T-Shirts for fun.
You can find the link via the “Shop” on my Website: mason comics.com.au
Hope you’re all safe and well.
Loopy Giant size Phantom covers, where the Phantom hangs out, fights and enjoys recreational activities with Australian comic characters.
And New reprints plus original stories from the Bosses at Frew. Great to see a piece of Aussie comic history back on the newsstands: https://www.phantomcomic.com.au/collections/giantsize-phantom
Hi Soldiers,
I still need to get a moment to upload some photos from the last month of cons- From Mackay, to Brisbane and Sydney, you guys were absolutely fantastic in your support of me and the series, and I’m very grateful.
Apart from a couple of copies probably still at All Star Comics Melbourne, I’m out of the Soldier Legacy 2014 Preview/Sketchbook, but in that, is a taste of what’s next regarding ‘The Soldier Legacy’ trade paperback Vol 2. Once the lecturing commitments for this year end (and the World Championships in Italy), Vol 2. will recommence with the plan to release it next year (thanks for all who have been recently asking me, and for your patience). This was the 'Words from the Front" section that appeared in that book to explain where things are regarding the book, as the Doctorate took the priority.
Anyways, I do have another massive, no. 1 priority project beginning in October, but I can’t say any more until that has commenced and is announced officially. It’s with folks I have the upmost respect and regard for, and can’t wait to rock and roll on it in a few weeks. But, I assure you, the Soldier will march on.
Once again, thank you eternally for your support and kindness at either here, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or at the recent conventions, and whatever you guys are aiming towards in your day-to-day, never settle for anything less than your best in order to achieve it. Cheers!

Nice work by David Thornhill on this article for the University of South Australia, covering some panels on Australian comics at the recent Adelaide OZ Comic-Con I was lucky to be a guest at. Chatting ‘bout comics 'n stuff with buds Ryan K Lindsay and Dean Rankine, and features some quotes via fellow researcher/academic Amy Maynard, and Cartoonist Bruce Mutard.
Thanks for not making me sound too much like a jerk, too :)
A ‘The Soldier Legacy’ “mash-up” of an old Australian 1915 WW1 recruitment poster. Mepxy Marker and digital colour.
